Problem:

How can I retrieve SMART data from the 3Ware Escalade 9750 controller?

Details:

Versions of smartmontools prior to 5.40 cannot access the SMART data of drives attached to the 9750 controller.

Solution:

An updated version of smartmontools for several Linux distributions can be found on the ASL driver CD:

CentOS/RHEL 5:

RedHat/EL5/x86_64/smartmontools-5.40-svn3178.el5.x86_64.rpm

CentOS/RHEL 6:

RedHat/EL6/x86_64/smartmontools-5.40-svn3178.el6.x86_64.rpm
